  • Anthony Roberts won the Terrance K. Hopkins Graduate Student Paper award from the Political Economy of the World-System Section of the American Sociological Association for his paper “Peripheral Accumulation in the World Economy: A Cross-National Analysis of the Informal Economy,” which was published in the International Journal of Comparative Sociology in 2013. Congrats, Anthony!
  • Erin Wolbeck and Anthony Roberts received third place honors in this year’s competition for the American Society of Criminology’s Gene Carte Best Student Paper Award. Congratulations to Erin and Anthony!
  • We are saddened by the passing of our long-time colleague, Austin Turk, on February 1st, 2014. Austin was a world-class scholar on the sociology of crime and socio-legal studies, and made a permanent contribution to the discipline over the course of his career. We will commemorate the career of Austin Turk on Thursday, June 5th, 2014.
