Biography:

Professor Estrada's interests are in social stratification, race/ethnicity, migration, demography, urban sociology and public policy. Her current work focuses on aspects of racial stratification related to housing and neighborhoods. Her recent studies include racial inequalities in homeownership trends, racial disparities in real estate and mortgage lending outcomes, and the implications of residential mobility patterns for racial segregation, immigrant assimilation and health outcomes. She is currently studying the impacts of the housing crisis on the Inland Empire, particularly focusing on neighborhood change resulting from foreclosures.
