Biography:

Professor Estrada's interests are in social stratification, race/ethnicity, migration, demography, urban sociology and public policy. Her current work focuses on housing and neighborhoods. One project examines changes in trends of racial inequality in homeownership in the United States since 1968. She has also written on racial disparities in real estate and mortgage lending. Another project studies residential mobility patterns and their implications for racial segregation, immigrant assimilation and health outcomes. During the 2007-2008 academic year, Professor Estrada will be on leave as a postdoctoral fellow at the RAND Population Research Center.
