BIOGRAPHY
Professor Mahutga received his PhD in Sociology from the University of California at Irvine (2008) and hails from Denver, Colorado.  His research spans the subfields of global/transnational and economic sociology, political economy and stratification, and includes both empirical and pure theoretical work. His empirical work makes use of both social network analysis and econometrics. Most of his published research thus far draws from these sociological areas to uncover the global origins of economic organization and the developmental consequences of these global organizational models, and advances macro-comparative sociological methods.  Please visit his personal website (http://matthewcm.ucr.edu) for more information.
