Julisa specializes in Gender Studies and Race and Class Inequality, with a particular interest in reproductive justice. Her current research focuses on the political economy of family planning funding in the United States. In 2014 Julisa was awarded the National Science Foundation's Graduate Research Fellowship Program to expand on this research. Her other research interests include racialized fertility control and gender inequalities in public policy more broadly.
Julisa received her M.A. in Sociology from UC Riverside in 2014 and her B.A. in Sociology from the University of Texas - Pan American in 2012.
