Biography:
Adam's current research focuses on developing new theory by synthesizing the work of several classic and modern theorists, which he hopes will demonstrate that society is a set of continuous processes with ideas as the driving force. He has recently worked with Drs. Robert Hanneman and Raymond Russell on the organizational changes that have occurred in Israeli kibbutzim. Future projects will explore the medicalization of difference in subpopulations by mainstream cultures, how the framing of a social problem influences the success or failure of laws which target it, and how perception of "ideal types" in different communities influences conflict between them.
