Biography: April Leviton received her B.A. in public health policy from UC Irvine and her M.P.H. in health policy, law, and ethics from the University of Virginia before arriving to UC Riverside in the fall of 2018. She is concentrating her studies in medical sociology and criminology. Her work uses qualitative and quantitative methods to understand prevention, intervention, and the health consequences of violent extremism. Her current research explores the role of social support in the lives of former white supremacists in terms of informing their engagement and desistance from various extremist groups.
