Biography: Christian is currently exploring digital research methods focusing on the social determinants of health. His research primarily focuses on the health outcomes of suicide, addiction, alcohol-related illness, and risk behaviors. Additional areas of interest include public health, criminology/deviance, and quantitative methods. Chistian was awarded the UCR GradQuant Digital Humanities Fellowship which allowed him to attend the Digital Humanities Summer Institute at the University of Victoria, BC. This fellowship has allowed him to present a workshop on accessing Web APIs using the Python programming language. He is currently focusing on geographic Google Trends data and its association to the incidence and distribution of suicide and drug overdoses.
