Biography: Jonathan has a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Georgia (2012) and an M.A. in Sociology from California State University, Northridge (2018). He entered the Ph.D. program in Sociology at UC Riverside in the fall of 2020, specializing in Political Economy & Global Social Change and Race & Class Inequality. Working in the Marxist Sociology tradition, Jonathan’s research uses historical-materialist analysis to explore the relationship between neoliberal capitalism and social movements on the left and right. Jonathan spent the last year as an adjunct Sociology professor at Grossmont College in San Diego. In his free time, he enjoys punk rock music and binge-watching Seinfeld.
