Justen Hamilton
Biography: Justen Hamilton is a Ph.D. student in the Sociology department at the University of California, Riverside. His research areas include gender and sexualities, sport, the body, and crime. Hamilton received his B.A. in Sociology from DePaul University in 2011 and his M.A. in Sociology from DePaul University in 2015 before entering the Ph.D. program in Sociology at UCR in 2016. His current work examines the sport of women’s mixed martial arts (WMMA) and the specific mechanisms by which the sport produces beliefs about sex, gender, and power.
