Biography: Logan is a mixed-methods researcher with six years of applied research and project management experience throughout the end-to-end research process. He has expertise in qualitative and quantitative research design, research methods, and data analysis. Through uncovering unique insights, he generates and delivers actionable recommendations to key stakeholders. During the summers of 2018 and 2019, Logan worked at Facebook and Instagram, respectively, as a user experience (UX) researcher intern. His foundational mixed-methods research informed product design and strategic product roadmap decisions. Upon finishing his Ph.D. in June 2020, he intends to pursue UX research opportunities, with the goal of creating more user-
centered products and systems.
Logan’s doctoral research examines college men’s communication, interpretation, and conceptual understanding of sexual consent and has yielded actionable insights for the development of more effective sexual health and sexual assault prevention initiatives. He was awarded over $66,000 in grants and fellowships in support of this research. He is also a researcher at the UCR School of Medicine and contributes to community engaged research on the well-being, sexual health, and health disparities among underserved populations, as well as research on the ethical issues related to payments to research participants. His work appears in AIDS Research and Human Retroviruses, Journal of Empirical Research on Human Research Ethics, Journal of the Association of Nurses in AIDS Care, International Journal of STDs & AIDS, PLOS One, Medicine, Ethics & Human Research, and LGBT Health.
