Biography: Teresa completed a Master of Arts degree with David Christian at San Diego State University in 2006. She assisted with teaching classes in Big History as a graduate student and her thesis examined the development of periodization schema in world history as pioneered by William H. McNeill. Teresa has taught college world history courses since 2005. Her current interests at UCR focus on applying world-systems analysis and Big History to the Indian Ocean as the center of an ancient world-system engaged in long-distance information and trade exchange. She co-authored a paper that appeared in Sociology of Development in 2015 and is co-editor of a volume of William H. McNeill’s correspondence to be published in 2016.
